Benjamin Moore Paint Company has been introducing a new generation of tint. It is water born which means that the paint cures very quickly. Normal paint tint has chemicals which take a long time to cure out and dry. This is why windows stick etc. This new type of tint system is especially beneficial for the Painting Contractor in the Newport News VA, Williamsburg VA, and Yorktown VA area. When doing a custom paint job in these areas, Painters are faced with many decisions regarding the weather. We have been seeing off and on rain 2-3 days a week since the beginning of May. It has been especially challenging for Painting Contractors to know when to paint or when not too. Because the water born technology cures so quickly, Custom Painting has been less affected by the weather. It also enables the Painter to apply a second coat much sooner than with a traditional paint which results in completing areas in a more timely fashion. All the paint companies are working on this type of system; it’s a major change within the industry.
